For medical/cosmetic tattoo procedures, you will require a minimum of 2 sessions for adequate pigment deposition, and around 4-6 sessions for microneedling. Your second session will be scheduled around 4-6 weeks (sometimes longer) after your first, so do ensure that you aren’t scheduling your treatments around imminent holiday plans.
Any tweezing/shaving/waxing/tinting of the area should be completed at least 48 hours prior to your procedure.
If you are having a procedure performed on a visible area, you may want to avoid making plans for a couple of days after your treatment as you may experience some redness and swelling immediately after your treatment.
If you have a history of cold sores and are having any micropigmentation or scar camouflage work being performed around the lip area, please ensure you see your GP to start a course of suppressive antiviral therapy to help prevent a flare.
Do not consume alcohol 48 hours prior to your treatment as this causes blood thinning.
Where possible, refrain from using blood thinning medications (including but not limited to aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil) for 7 days prior until 2 days after your treatment. This strictly must be discussed with your GP – please do not withhold any medications unless deemed appropriate by them.
If you are having any micropigmentation procedures performed on the face, it is recommended that your injectables are performed at least 6 weeks prior to the tattooing. This is especially important for eyebrows to ensure that the effect of anti-wrinkle injections does not change the final result.
If you are undergoing laser hair removal or resurfacing, ensure that you inform your laser technician of your micropigmentation procedure as this can burn the pigments used and permanently darken its appearance. Where possible, we recommend having this completed prior to your micropigmentation procedure.
Unless waived by you after discussion, will perform allergy patch testing during your initial consultation. This will help to determine within 24 hours if you will develop a reaction to the pigments or anaesthetic agents we use. Please be aware that this test does not conclusively ascertain if you will develop an allergic reaction at any time in the future as some reactions can manifest years later.
Assuming you do not develop a reaction to our patch test, ensure you obtain your topical anaesthetic cream and gel prior to your procedure. Please click the following link for further information on how to order your anaesthetic supply.
